Assuming he keeps performing this well, Bone will continue to move up the list. Squish and LanceStern were moved down due to inactivity. Pha, Eddykim1, Paul Mitchell and Oops! were removed due to inactivity in Singles. Expect them to shoot up the chart when/if they become active again.

POSITION CRITERIA

* Tournament performance - It's not about how high a person placed, but rather who they defeated and who they lost to. These Rankings only take into consideration a person's Singles performances over history and of recent times.

* Consistency of Results - Self explanatory, but nonetheless I'll explain. If a person has done well or poorly in a singular tournament, it is not enough to warrant a major shift in their respective rank. On the other hand, a person who has continually produced similar results over many tournaments will be assessed accordingly.

* Competitiveness of Tournament participated in - No point winning a tournament filled with 100 n00bs - Tournaments which have highly ranked or respected participants (from either Local or Out-of-State regions will be given greater weight.

* Assuming he keeps performing this well, Bone will continue to move up the list.

Rankings take into consideration a person's collective Singles, Doubles and Crew performances over history and of recent times.

* Must be a current resident in San Diego County, California. Click Here to see which cities fall under San Diego County, California.

* Names within each tier are in ALPHABETICAL order, and everyone in the same tier is roughly equal in skill level. Some people, like Eddy, were moved down due to long absences. If a player misses more than three major San Diego tournaments in a row, (i.e. Triweeklies), they will most likely move down a pool, and will continue to decline until they are off the list completely. Once they return and continue to place well again, expect them to move up very quickly.

Red Bouquet Roster Change? [1st   Mar   2006]

meyoulou
Correct me if I'm wrong, but for a game to be considered for the RBL, it must:

1. Be played by many players
2. Be skill based, not chance

Four games have come under fire: Third Strike, Hyper Street Fighter, Capcom VS SNK 2, and F-Zero GX. While these games are definitley skill based, there has been questioning in whether or not they meet the first requirement.

Lets take a look at these games by number of players.

Smash: 14
Mario Kart: 11
Pokemon: 8
Pokemon Puzzle: 7

the games in question:

Third Strike:5
Hyper:6
CVS2: 5
GX: 7

While these numbers don't seem much lower, it is important to know that while 7 people play Puzzle League, all of them play regularly, whereas although 7 people play GX, no one has really played the game for months. The Same for the other games: They are not played regularly.

Should these 4 games be taken off the roster? Lets vote :]

RBL 2/27/06 Update! [27th   Feb   2006]

meyoulou
Recent rumblings in the RBL:

Nicky beat Tony in a heated best-of-3 duel to become the Pokemon #1 Contender.
Nicky beat Evan 2>1 in Smash Bros, bumping her up the Smash ranking.
Tony is a grand prix away from becoming the new Mario Kart champion.
Evan's Sheik almost beat Tony's Captain Falcon in Smash.
Evan has soared way, way up on the Mario Kart ranking. From dead last, to 4th best.
Mitch proved once again that he is the undisputed champion in Puzzle League.
Ashley is the new #1 Contender in Puzzle League.
Rick feels that the competition is getting tougher everyday!
Rick also feels that he writes about the RBL too much.

Pokemon Puzzle League Red Bouquet Championships! [26th   Feb   2006]

meyoulou
Image hosting by Photobucket

Congratulations to Mitch and Ashley for their first and second place victories today! Red Bouquet history was made, as this is the first time Rick is NOT the champion of a RBL game, or even the #1 Contender! It's too bad that Nicky was not feeling well, as it seemed to hamper her perfomance tonight, but only barely lost to Tony.

We hope to see everyone continue to play and have fun, in hopes of one day being able to topple the seemingly unbeatable Mitch!

SPRING '06 GAMES! [18th   Feb   2006]

meyoulou
Image hosting by Photobucket

As many of you noted, the RBL list of games was too limited for some, so I decided to add five new games to the roster. Here they are (ordered by popularity, in terms of number of players):

Super Smash Bros. Melee-
The flagship game of the RBL. What can be said that hasn't already?
Champion: Rickety
#1 Contender: Tony
Junior Champion: Sam
Tag Team Champions: Rickety and Tony

Mario Kart DS-
With a player pool of more than ten RBl'ers, this is the current game to beat for many. Currently, there is no Free-For-All Champion, though it will probably be won by Rick, Tony, Jessica, or Cody.
Champion(1vs1): Rickety
#1 Contender: Tony
FFA Champion: ???

Pokemon Puzzle League-
Finally, a game where Rick isn't champ! Mitch's explosive performances and clever play has made him the undisputed RBL champion of this game. He has single-handedly revived this game, as well as reinvigorated players to once again start practicing.
Champion: Mitch
#1 Contender: Ashley

Street Fighter III: Third Strike-
So what if only four people on the RBL take this game seriously? This is quite possibly the best fighting game on the planet.
Champion: Rickety
#1 Contender: Tony

Hyper Street Fighter II-
No fighting game roster is complete without some incarnation of SF2. Although it's very debatable which version of SF2 is best, we're sticking with HSF2 because of the convienence--it's on the same disc as Third Strike.
Champion: Rickety
#1 Contender: Cody

Capcom VS SNK 2-
THIS is the game that caused a 2D fighting revival for RIck and Tony.
Champion: Rickety
#1 Contender: Tony

Pokemon-
Ruby, Sapphire, FireRed, LeafGreen, Emerald. Take your pick and battle!
Champion: Rickety
#1 Contender: Nicky

F-Zero GX-
Who plays this game? Honestly, we haven't touched it for months. It's a great game, but it is the opposite of pick up and play: You need an intimate knowledge of the courses, as well as fine tuned a custom car. Hard to get into, but worth the effort.
Champion: Rickety
#1 Contender: Tony

---

Also, we are considering adding two more games: Marvel VS Capcom 2, and Guilty GearX2. We need to see who exactly would be playing.

Newcomer Dwayne would like to battle! [18th   Feb   2006]

meyoulou
Today I met a nice fella named dwayne. He plays Smash. he play CVS2. and he plays Third Strike. and yes, he's really good.

He played a very conservative but very effective Mario, unlike my sporadic, jittery Mario.
Overall, I was slightly better than him. So much so, that even Tony had great difficulty fighting him, but was still able to steal a couple victories.

Challenge Time! [13th   Feb   2006]

neiru
I can't wait for Tetris DS! (Comes in March)
It will be great. Who wants to go against me when I get it??? ;)
This game will be single card multiplay, being able to hold ten, count 'em, TEN people at the same time!
So yeah.

Bring it.

In a true display of skill, showmanship, and raw determination, Tony beat Adam in a best of 5 set 3-0 to defend his title of number one contender.

Later, Rick, Tony, Nicky, Cody, and Adam duked it out in a smash fest that went on for hours.
